Type Locality and Naming
Along the height of Rabindjan, northeastern Zirabulak Mountains. A.A. Shapkin et al., 1978 (238, p.14). Hypostratotype on the height of Chupan-Ata.
Synonym: Rabindzhan Suite, Рабинджанская св., Rabindjan Fm
Lithology and Thickness
The Rabindzban Fm consists of jaspers, cherts, radiolarites of green, dark gray, black color, interbedded with yellow-red-brown, yellowish-green and light brown argillites, clay-siliceous slates, dark gray limestones and basaltic lava flows. Thickness 150-190m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Stratigraphic contacts are not established, the lower contact is assumed to be conformable with the Chupanatin Fm.
Upper contact
Stratigraphic contacts are not established
Regional extent
Mountains Rabindzhan and Chunan-Ata, southern foothills of the South Nuratau Range, Mount Vaush.
